Broumana

A Mountainous Marvel


Broumana's elevated location gives it a broad view over nearby Beirut and also over the sea. The mountainous setting creates a breathtaking backdrop to a town filled with ancient wonders.

Explore the quaint streets of this small town on foot and marvel at the spectacular preservation of some of the older buildings. Be awed by the Church of Prophet Isaiah, dating back to 1560, and recline in the shade of its great oak tree. Learn about the fascinating stories behind the citadel and convent, 'Serail Abillama'. Climb up the highest hill of Beit Mary to discover the incredible ruins located here that date back to Phoenician, Byzantine and Roman eras.

Meander down towards the coast to take in some fresh sea air or head to one of the small, humble restaurants within Broumana to sample the delicious cuisine made from locally grown ingredients.
