Manchester

City of Delights

The old city of Manchester has retained much of its charisma as well as enhancing its facilities in recent years and renovating many areas. The city has an overwhelming feeling of culture and is rich with museums, monuments, galleries and amazing architecture.

Explore urban life around the world at the ultra modern Urbis museum or the old Chetham's Library, with its interesting background dating back to 1421. Mancunians (as the locals are known), are big football fans so it's worth experiencing the atmosphere of a game at one of Manchester's famous clubs, or visit Manchester United's Museum and Tour Centre. Enjoy Shakespeare under the Victorian stained glass dome of the Royal Exchange Theatre or absorb the magnificence of the Manchester Art Gallery's fine collection. Head to Castlefield where you will find the part reconstruction of the original Roman Fort, plus the oldest railway station in the world, the first industrial canal and great waterside walks with cosy eateries.

Dine at the renowned restaurant, Le Petit Blanc, run by one of the world's top chefs, then head to Oldham Street to experience Manchester's buzzing nightlife.

dnata Holidays will assist you with your travel arrangements to the United Kingdom.
