Adventure in a Charming Setting


Surrounded by magnificent Schmittenhohe mountain peaks and fronting onto Lake Zeller, the historical town of Zell am See is as quaint as its environs are spectacular.

In summer, swim in the clear lake or take a boat out fishing or waterskiing on the calm waters. Play tennis or ride horses in the tranquil countryside surrounding the town. Take the cable car up the dramatic Schmittenhohe for superb panoramas of the Salzburgerland and the Hohe Tauern National Park.

For winter sports enthusiasts, Zell am See offers great skiing and toboggan runs. Enjoy the challenging and varied terrain on the slopes, especially those on the glacier of Kaprun. Head into town to relax your weary muscles in the many apres ski destinations, tuck into superb fondues by an open fire in one of the charming restaurants. See the sights in the historic centre, admire St Hippolyte's Church and shop in the varied boutiques, stopping for coffee at a pavement cafe. Also visit the nearby Swarovski Crystal factory.
